Heyting-valued interpretations for Constructive Set Theory

The theory of locales [23] has a twofold interplay with intuitionistic mathematics: first of all, the internal logic of toposes and intuitionistic set theories provide suitable settings for the development of the theory of locales [24], and secondly, the notion of a locale determines two important forms of toposes and of interpretations for intuitionistic set theories, namely localic toposes [2...

Generalizing realizability and Heyting models for constructive set theory

This article presents a generalisation of the two main methods for obtaining class models of constructive set theory. Heyting models are a generalisation of the Boolean models for classical set theory which are a kind of forcing, while realizability is a decidedly constructive method that has first been develloped for number theory by Kleene and was later very fruitfully adapted to constructive...

Interpreting lattice-valued set theory in fuzzy set theory

An interpretation of lattice-valued logic, defined by Titani, in basic fuzzy logic, defined by Hájek, is presented. Moreover, Titani’s axioms of lattice-valued set theory are interpreted in fuzzy set theory, under slight modifications of the fuzzy set theory axiomatics.

Causal Sets and Frame-Valued Set Theory

In spacetime physics any set C of events—a causal set—is taken to be partially ordered by the relation ≤ of possible causation: for p, q ∈ C, p ≤ q means that q is in p’s future light cone. In her groundbreaking paper The internal description of a causal set: What the universe looks like from the inside, Fotini Markopoulou proposes that the causal structure of spacetime itself be represented by...

Heyting-Brouwer Rough Set Logic

A rough set logic based on Heyting-Brouwer algebras HBRSL is proposed as a basis for reasoning about rough information. It is an extension of Düntsch’s logic with intuitionistic implication, and is seen as a variant of HeytingBrouwer logic. A Kripke semantics and natural deduction for the logic are presented and the completeness theorem is proved.
